I was born in Mexico, but a few years ago I decided to cross the Atlantic and start a new chapter in Madrid. So far, pretty normal. What wasn't quite so normal was ending up with a dog daycare along the way. Apparently a quiet life wasn't enough to keep me entertained. I've always been someone who needs a project on the go. If I'm not working on something, I'm building something. If I'm not building something, I'm planning an adventure. And if I'm doing neither, I'm probably already thinking about the next one. Dogs have always been a constant in my life, but the real culprits behind all of this are Luna and Jara, two completely different dogs who taught me that no two dogs are alike, and that there's always room for one more in the family. What started as a place for them to be happy became Huellas Amigas. And without really noticing, I ended up adopting an entire pack. Because yes, dogs officially have owners, but unofficially, a lot of them have a small piece of my heart too. Between the barking, the fur, the mud, the coffee, and the occasional organized chaos, here I am. Learning every day from the dogs, from my team, and from this adventure that started as an idea and turned into a way of life. The people who've become part of this place have also become my family. They know me for saying yes to anything with a hint of adrenaline, for never sitting still, and for always juggling too many projects at once. Honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm Carolina, "Caro", "Carol", the Colombian of the team. I'm a vet, and Madrid welcomed me so warmly that I decided to stay and look after its furry residents. I take care of their health by profession, but I spoil them entirely by vocation. I love being surrounded by dogs, getting to know their personalities, and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while they're with us. I'm the person who ends up saying hello to the dog before the owner. I'm so happy to be part of the Huellas Amigas family and to share every day with our four-legged guests. I promise I won't diagnose anyone with "an excess of cuddles" when they go home happy and tail-wagging! 🐾

Covered in fur and with mud on my boots, I left the hills of Cádiz for the capital, a green-minded, idealistic biologist ready to throw myself headfirst into the animal world. More specifically, the clinical side of it, training as a Veterinary Technical Assistant specializing in Wildlife. And along the way, I decided I could make things slightly more complicated by taking the wild idea of actually working side by side with some of these animals. On that same path, I crossed paths with someone even wilder than the ideas themselves, and with even more fur on her clothes, and that's how Huellas Amigas came to life. A shared project that started with giving our dogs, Luna and Jara, a second home where they could share their days with lots of other friends: more fun, more love, more licks. And here I am, María, among all these wonderful creatures, learning from them every day and from my teammates, shouting at them in Andalusian when I can't help myself, brightening up their mornings with my general clumsiness, and always trying to move things forward with love and care. With just a little bit of temper thrown in too 😜.

Elena. La Helen. Jelen, Jels, Ele, the Madrileña of the crew. Not entirely a city cat though; a bit of the River Miño runs through my veins too. Born in the nineties-and-then-some, with a clear animal spirit. Short-sighted from an early age, but with a very clear vision for life: to help those who don't have a voice. I'm a fairly neurodivergent person and definitely a jack-of-all-trades: which means I've tried my hand at almost everything, and my CV looks something like a Picasso painting. As far as dogs go, which is what you're actually here for, it all started as a revolution and a revelation, becoming a first-time guide to a Podenco who completely changed my life. Not long after came a stint at a pet shop (for the record, I have a master's in pet nutrition and snacks). Then I went deep into the clinical world, qualifying as a Veterinary Technical Assistant. I kept going, volunteering with rescue organisations, doing fostering work and shelter dog rehabilitation, which I'm still very much part of. I've also been getting into ethology and neurobiology, where I'm still happily submerged. Add to all of that a chapter or two in the Madrid dog daycare world, and eventually I found myself adopted into the Huellas Amigas pack, where I'll be waiting for you. I can promise your dogs will get endless affection, love, understanding, patience, and always the deep respect this wonderful species deserves.
